-"Fullstendig uten standard for bevis." Tidligere MUFON-leders farvel til ufologi

Tidligere MUFON-leder James Carrion har sagt et nokså høylytt farvel til ufologien i påsken.

Han var visstnok alltid av de mer nøkterne, men etter noen års undersøkelser ser åpen nysgjerrighet ut til å ha blitt en mer erfaringsbasert skepsis:

I decided to examine the data collection and investigative practices in Ufology, and after poring over thousands of historical case files from MUFON, NICAP and APRO investigators in the MUFON archives, what I found, was inconsistent investigation with a total lack of evidentiary standards. I also found a paper trail of disinformation and misinformation that has kept Ufology in check through infighting and red herrings, rabbit holes and elaborate deception operations.

Ouch.

Med den siste delen mener han nok blant annet å antyde at ufomytologien og ufologien er blitt brukt i mer pragmatiske desinformasjonskampanjer. Hm. Ikke umulig, ofte litt mindre sannsynlig.
